It seems to us that being "alternative" has become about buying into an image, a brand and a stereotype of late, and think that thats just not on! Individuality is what makes us great, and this is one of the reasons we do not supply set lists of fabric for you to choose from, we encourage all input from customers, and whilst we provide a range of popular fabrics to inspire you, we are also more than happy to go looking for anything else that you might like!
Desert Orchid designs is a small and intimate but well established company working in the misty depths of rural mid wales. We hail from the Llandrindod wells area in Powys, well known for its annual celebration of victorian traditions, and great spa town history. We find many great inspiration in our surroundings and the rich celtic culture, the elegance, poise and drama of yesteryear mixed with a love of gothic culture, burlesque glitz and glamour, rockabilly kitsch and the etheral delicacy of faery. basically, anything unusual and beautiful!
We have been creating corsetry for over 8 years, and have been going from strength to strength on auction sites like ebay and etsy for almost 3 years. More recently we have started working with prestigious names like Ateliers of Belfast, and we are about to start work with Gothic haven. We believe that it is our dedication to good customer relationships that has brought us this far, and always endeavour to support and help our clients, no matter how small the order!
We feel honoured and proud to have found our spiritual home at the Thomas Shop museum, where we have now been based for just over a year, We are extremely lucky to work in a place filled with such amazing and inspirational people, and amongst so much beauty!
